Who Did The Grant Help?

Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the staff who support them.

What Problem Did the Grant Solve?

There was a need for increased staff efficiency related to client personal cares so clients experience greater opportunities for engagement in meaningful activities that build skills.

What Was The Impact Of The Grant?

The installation of a mechanical ceiling mounted client lift system allowed client engagement in skill building activities to increase. The amount of lifting staff does each day decreased as well as staff frustration and anxiety over time constraints that manual lifting presented. Clients are now enjoying a safer and more secure transfer.

On average, clients gained an hour per week of engagement in skill building activities. The number of lifts each staff member does in a day decreased by 50%.
