An Oklahoma-based nonprofit, NewView Oklahoma works to empower blind and vision impaired people to achieve their maximum potential. To achieve this goal, we employ a three pronged approach of rehabilitation, fulfilling employment, and community outreach.
Our two full-service clinics provide compassionate, one-of-a-kind rehabilitation for individuals with impaired vision. In addition, we employ over 100 people with visual impairments in manufacturing and service careers. Finally, NewView Oklahoma works to build a community for adults and children living with visual impairments. To create this sense of community, we offer support groups, a dragon boating team, and summer camps.
The generous FNF grant helped our organization as a whole, our accounting staff, and our clients who are now able to easily find and access the latest assistive devices.
The grant enabled us to purchase a digital system to streamline our retail processes and provide the best service in providing assistive devices to visually impaired customers. In addition, the system we purchased was “blind friendly” for our visually impaired retail manager.
Our organization functions more smoothly, meaning a better work experience for employees and superior service for our customer community. The centralized digital system replaced excel spreadhseets, redundant data entry, and complicated manual input. The time requirement for quarterly inventory has been reduced from weeks to mere hours. Due to the depth of information, we can conveniently offer the correct services and products customer while accommodating any special needs they may have.
The purchase of this system would not have been possible without the generous support of the First Nonprofit Foundation, and we are sincerely appreciative of your support.
